PaR Nuclear’s New Fuel Elevator lowers new fuel from the floor level of the fuel building into the spent fuel pool so it can be grappled by the Spent Fuel-handling Machine. The New Fuel Elevator usually mounts to the wall of the spent fuel pool. It consists of a vertically-mounted carriage and cable winch to hold the fuel rods, which travels on rails mounted to the side of the spent fuel pool. A cable winch drives the carriage up and down.
