PaR Nuclear offers an Auxiliary Refueling Platform that can improve the efficiency of reloading fuel into the reactor. The platform is used to position the Load Assistance Tool (LAT), often referred to as a "shoe horn." The LAT is used as an aid to position and seat fuel assemblies into the Lower Core Plate of the reactor vessel. The auxiliary refueling platform moves independently of the refueling machine and can be moved to a fuel assembly to position the LAT before the refueling platform arrives with the fuel bundle. Performing this activity in parallel considerably improves fuel movement efficiency.
